There’s something very special about planning a trip, writing a list, and packing a bag. It’s the travel bug and it’s magic.
When I was 13 my family took me on a two week trip to SE Asia, and then two years later, followed it up with a holiday in Bali over the Christmas and New Year period.
It was the mid seventies, and flying overseas back then was a bit of a luxury, something not every family could do. To me it was exciting, and the exotic, tropical destinations we visited were literally out of this world!
We explored a variety of cultures, learnt how to barter at market stalls, challenged our maths with foreign currency conversions, sampled exotic dishes and dances, and absorbed the atmospheres and smells of each new destination. The heady, exciting pace of the cities, and the laid back island lifestyle of the beaches was mesmerising. I was hooked!
A few years later, when I left school, I decided there was really only one career for me, and that was in travel.
I joined the airline industry, and for 15 years travelled extensively in Australia and overseas. During my time as a flight attendant I learnt many things about ‘how to travel’. I accomplished the art of packing light, learnt how to make the most of a short stopover, and set my level of expectation for good customer service.
Travel today has changed a lot. It’s available to everyone, and you can virtually go anywhere in the world. You are really only limited by your imagination (and you bank account).
At Pixsell Travels you’ll find travel tips, itineraries, tours, inspiration and a host of information to help make planning your next adventure easier.
I would love to hear about your travels too, so please drop me a line and let me know what amazing things you have been doing, and what you discovered along the way. If you have a great trip itinerary you’d like to share, please let me know.
And remember, travel is not just about the destination, it’s about the journey we take to get there.
So, enjoy the ride, and happy travels.
Pixsell 💛
