We may have stayed for only one night at Hyatt Regency Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, but in that short time we were really impressed by its cool, laid back luxury and numerous well appointed amenities.
Our direct Jetstar flight from Brisbane arrived into Bangkok in the early evening, so we wanted to stay somewhere close to the airport before flying on to Koh Samui the next morning.
It needed to be near the airport, and a super convenient, stress-free transit option.
The Hyatt Regency answered all of our requirements, most importantly because it’s just a 300m walk via an underground walkway from the airport, or a 7 minute free shuttle ride! We chose the shuttle option to the hotel, and were whisked away as soon as we located the dedicated meet and greet counter next to Gate 4 on Arrival Level 2F.
What we loved about this hotel:
Flexible check-in/check-out policy: The Hyatt Regency doesn’t have a check in or check out time. You simply book a room, check in whenever you arrive and then check out at any time within 24 hours. This is such a great idea for travellers who often just need a place to rest in between arriving and departing flights, at all hours of the day and night.
Amenities: On offer are 24/7 restaurants, cafes and bars which are located in the grand, open plan lobby area. There are rooms with stunning views of the airport, lush tropical gardens, an award-winning spa and a tropical outdoor pool featuring a bar offering light snacks and refreshments.
Central Bangkok is also easily accessible from the hotel via the Airport Rail Link which takes approximately 25-30 minutes. Trains run from 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM daily.
Sustainability: The stand out feature of this hotel is its commitment to sustainable practises. It is an eco-certified property which is evident as soon as you enter your room. It’s not just the complimentary refillable glass-bottled water, paper-only wrapped amenities and bulk shampoo/ conditioner dispensers in the shower, but also the non-plastic door entry cards. These little balsa wood key-cards are a plastic-free game changer.
And it’s not surprising that the hotel has proudly received a Green Key Certificate, making it the FIRST AIRPORT HOTEL in Southeast Asia to achieve this honor.
Green Key certified establishments are expected to meet a set of high-standard environmental requirements, which are monitored and audited regularly based on 13 criteria.

After checking in and a couple of welcome drinks in the Atrium Lounge, we wandered back to our well-appointed King Room, a comfortable 34sqm room featuring a comfy king bed, a workstation, and a large bathroom with walk-in shower and separate bathtub.
The next morning, after a good night’s sleep and a relaxed breakfast in The Market Cafe, we took the free shuttle service back to the airport for our onward flight, stress-free and refreshed.
We can’t recommend this beautiful hotel with its innovative and excellent service highly enough!
